Join us for "Introduction to Wood Carving with Jim Hiser," an interactive class hosted by the W.F. Moran Bladesmith & Artisan Academy. This beginner-friendly session covers essential topics such as safety, tool maintenance, and selecting the right woods, followed by hands-on practice of basic knife cuts. Participants will complete three small projects that reinforce learned techniques, fostering both skill and creativity in wood carving. Discover the art of wood carving in a supportive environment! Bio: Jim Hiser is a wood carver from Carlisle Pa specializing in caricature carving. Always enjoying the humorous side of life, he found Caricature Carving allows him to express this and feels there is no better praise than to see people smiling and watching their expressions while looking at his carvings.  In 2015, he was inducted into the Caricature Carvers of America and is a past president.  He is a member of several wood carving clubs and the Yellow Breeches Chapter of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.  He displays and teaches seminars across the country and regularly speaks to various groups on the art Wood Carving.
